Do I need modeling experience for a boudoir session?

No modeling experience is required. River Rose provides guidance with posing, movement, expression, wardrobe, and positioning throughout the session.

Do I need to feel confident before booking boudoir photography?

You do not need to arrive feeling confident. River Rose begins with a conversation about your comfort, boundaries, and how you want to be photographed.

Who will photograph my boudoir session?

River Rose sessions are photographed by Shane Michael or a female associate photographer. A female posing coach and assistant will be with you throughout the shoot. Discuss your preferences during the consultation.

Does River Rose have an all-female photography team?

River Rose provides female posing and assistant support. Your photographer may be Shane Michael or a female associate; the entire photography team should not be assumed to be all-female.

How much does a boudoir session cost in St. Charles, Missouri?

First-time River Rose clients may be eligible for the Blooming First Session at $799. Specialty Set Sessions are $900, the Signature Experience is $1,500, and the River Rose Experience starts at $3,000. Reservation amounts and payment options vary by experience, and you will know the total before you book.

What should I wear to a boudoir session?

Wear pieces that make you feel like yourself. Bodysuits, simple lingerie, an oversized button down shirt and well fitting denim all photograph beautifully. Wardrobe is planned during your consultation and you receive a prep guide with fits, colors and fabrics that work well on camera.

Who will be in the room during my session?

Your photographer, a female posing coach and a female assistant. The team is kept small and intentional so the studio stays private and calm. No one else is in the building during your session.

Is hair and makeup included?

Yes. Professional hair and makeup are included in River Rose session pricing. We will confirm timing and the details for your specific session during planning.

How long does a boudoir session take?

Timing depends on the experience you choose. Your schedule is confirmed before the session and includes the time needed for hair and makeup, photography, wardrobe changes, and any planned set or concept changes.

When will I see my photographs?

Sneak peeks arrive within 24 to 48 hours, with your finished gallery ready in about four weeks. What is included depends on the experience you choose, and additional images and products are available if you want more.

What if I am nervous?

Tell us. Some clients are nervous and some are not. If you are, we do not expect you to hide it or figure out how to get over it before you arrive. We start simply, give you clear direction, and let the session build from there.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. Many clients bring a friend, partner or family member for support. Expectations are set ahead of time so the day stays focused on you.

Are payment plans available?

Scheduled in-house payments may be available depending on the experience and timing, and Affirm may be available for qualifying purchases. Payment options are reviewed during your consultation.

Do you photograph women of every age and size?

Yes. River Rose sessions are created for every woman, with posing, lighting and wardrobe guidance tailored to you rather than to a body type.

How do I book?

Every River Rose session starts with a conversation. Once we know what you want from the photographs, which experience fits, and what date works, we will send the agreement and reservation information to secure the session.

How do sessions work with a male photographer?

When Shane photographs your session, you are never alone with him during the photography session. Female support is present, Shane steps out while you change, and female team members handle hands-on wardrobe, hair, and posing adjustments when needed. You can stop the session at any time, and photographs are never shared publicly without your written permission. Female associate photographers are also available.
