Questions

Boudoir questions, answered

Everything women ask us most before booking a session at our St. Charles studio. If your question is not here, send it over and we will answer it honestly.

Do I need modeling experience for a boudoir session?
No. Most River Rose clients have never been professionally photographed. You are guided through every pose, movement and expression by your photographer and a dedicated posing coach, so you never have to figure out what to do on your own.
How much does a boudoir session cost in St. Charles, Missouri?
River Rose experiences start at $500, with additional collections at $900 and $1,400. The difference between them is what is included, not the level of care. Every price is discussed in full before you book, so you always know the complete investment ahead of time.
What should I wear to a boudoir session?
Wear pieces that make you feel like yourself. Bodysuits, simple lingerie, an oversized button down shirt and well fitting denim all photograph beautifully. Wardrobe is planned during your consultation and you receive a prep guide with fits, colors and fabrics that work well on camera.
Who will be in the room during my session?
Your photographer, a female posing coach and a female assistant. The team is kept small and intentional so the studio stays private and calm. No one else is in the building during your session.
Is hair and makeup included?
Professional hair and makeup is part of the studio experience and is discussed during your consultation so you know exactly what is included in the experience you choose.
How long does a boudoir session take?
Plan for most of a morning or afternoon. Hair and makeup comes first, then the session itself, with time built in to change looks, take breaks and settle in. Nothing is rushed.
When will I see my photographs?
Sneak peeks arrive within 24 to 48 hours. Your full gallery is ready in about four weeks. You select the images you want to keep, and the remaining images stay viewable in a look gallery, with additional digital images and products available.
What if I am nervous?
Nearly everyone is, and the session is built around that. The first ten minutes are spent talking, getting comfortable and easing into simple movement before anything else happens. Nerves usually fade once the first few frames are on the screen.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. Many clients bring a friend, partner or family member for support. Expectations are set ahead of time so the day stays focused on you.
Are payment plans available?
Scheduled in-house payments may be available depending on the experience and timing, and Affirm may be available for qualifying purchases. Payment options are reviewed during your consultation.
Do you photograph women of every age and size?
Yes. River Rose sessions are created for every woman, with posing, lighting and wardrobe guidance tailored to you rather than to a body type.
Where is the studio located?
River Rose Boudoir is at 226 N Main St, St. Charles, Missouri 63301, a short drive from St. Louis, O'Fallon and St. Peters. Sessions are by appointment only.
How do I book?
Start with a complimentary consult, in the studio or by phone. You talk through your ideas, wardrobe, timing and investment, and nothing is booked until you are ready.
