What can I say about Shane Michael? He is one of the most talented, laid-back and humble photographers I know. He goes above and beyond for every client, not only to create a strong photograph, but to make sure the experience feels comfortable and supported from beginning to end. Shane does not judge or compare the person in front of his camera. He pays attention, gives clear direction and brings out the best in each client. Whether he is photographing a wedding, headshots or a personal portrait session, he is there every step of the way. His passion for the work shows in everything he creates, and his art speaks for itself.

I was about to turn 74 and had been widowed for the second time. I had never felt beautiful, or even particularly pretty, and at that point in my life, I felt even less so. A boudoir session was something I had thought about doing in my 20s, but life happened and the idea was pushed aside. Years later, my granddaughter’s mom had a session. After seeing a few of her photographs, I found myself wanting to do it again. I was beyond scared, but after talking with Shane Michael, I found the courage to schedule a session. I brought my granddaughter and her mom as my support system, and Shane and his team made the entire experience feel easy. When I saw the finished photographs, my first thought was, “Dammit, I am beautiful.”

Having my boudoir pictures done by Shane has helped me so much with my confidence and self-love. I’ve always struggled with body image and low self-esteem, and I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. However, after seeing the pictures Shane takes of me, I am more confident than ever and love my body exactly as it is. It has helped me see myself in a different light, one I never would have seen if I hadn’t decided to step outside my comfort zone. This is now something I will always do for myself.
